what is three one magazine?

three one magazine is a thoughtfully refined continuation of experimentalist’s journal (ejm), both created by bri liams, an engineer and journalist based in detroit, michigan.

launched in 2019, ejm started as a small but dedicated platform, providing space for artists to grow and explore creative experimentation within detroit’s underground art scene. in its early days, we produced both print and digital magazines, hosted photoshoots, organized music showcases, and developed a clothing line that embodied the essence of our zine. as ejm gained recognition, it expanded beyond expectations, strengthening our community presence. this growth allowed us to offer more in-depth interviews, refined photoshoots, and higher-quality products that truly resonated with the artists and supporters we represent.
